Who is responsible for your data

What we keep and why

  • Name, email and phone number of the person who books, so we can confirm the booking, send details and reach you on the day.
  • Passenger details for every person on board. Greek law requires them for the charter agreement (ναυλοσύμφωνο) that the Hellenic Coast Guard checks before the boat leaves.
  • What you tell us by email, phone, WhatsApp or the contact form, so we can answer you.
  • Booking and payment records (amounts, dates, what was booked), because Greek tax law requires us to keep them.

We use this data to run your booking and to meet our legal duties. We do not sell it and we do not use it for advertising.

Card payments

Card payments are processed only by myPOS, our payment provider. We never see or store your card number. myPOS handles card data under its own security and privacy rules.

Who else sees your data

Only the providers we need to run a booking: myPOS for payments, our booking system (Kleesto) for reservations, and our email provider. The skipper of your cruise gets the passenger list. The Hellenic Coast Guard gets the passenger details the law requires.

How long we keep it

As long as we need it for your booking, and after that only as long as Greek tax and maritime law require.

Your rights under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • see the personal data we hold about you
  • correct it
  • have it deleted, unless the law requires us to keep it
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • receive it in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent

To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).

We use your data because we need it to perform our contract with you (your booking), because the law requires it (Coast Guard, tax), because you consented (analytics cookies), or for our legitimate interest in running and protecting this website.

Log Files

yakosailing.com follows a standard procedure of using log files. These files log visitors when they visit websites. All hosting companies do this and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information collected by log files include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date and time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. These are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable. The purpose of the information is for analyzing trends, administering the site, tracking users’ movement on the website, and gathering demographic information.

Cookies and Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, a Google service, to see how people use this site: which pages they open, how they found us, what device and browser they use, and roughly where they are (country or city). We do not send your name, email or phone number to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics only runs if you choose “Accept” in the cookie banner, or allow “Analytics” under “Settings”. Until then the site loads nothing from Google and sets no analytics cookies. If you allow it, Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID>, which hold a random ID so that visits can be counted. They last up to two years unless you delete them.

We also count clicks on the WhatsApp, phone and email links, and when the booking calendar is opened, so we know which pages lead to a booking or a question.

“Marketing” lets Google use these visits for advertising. The Google tag on this site is also linked to a Google Ads account. If you allow Marketing, Google may set the advertising cookie _gcl_au (90 days) and use your visit in Google Ads, for example to measure ads or to show ads to people who have visited the site. If you allow only Analytics, no advertising cookie is set, but the tag may still send Google a signal without cookies. Nothing loads for marketing unless you have also allowed Analytics.

Your choice is kept in your browser’s local storage (not a cookie), under the name yako-consent, for six months. After that we ask again. You can change it any time with “Cookies” at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, we delete these cookies on this site.

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

yakosailing.com does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Our Privacy Policy applies only to our online activities and is valid for visitors to our website with regards to the information that they shared and/or collect in yakosailing.com. This policy is not applicable to any information collected offline or via channels other than this website.
